Nextran's flagship sales and service facility for large medium-duty and heavy-duty vehicles was a first for the firm. The long span Service Shop featured an overhead crane that spans 112 feet. Like most automotive dealerships, the sales and service area are under one roof but uniquely include an exhibition space, an aftermarket retail boutique and a customer lounge with hospitality bar.
This was the first project I worked on as a professional and I worked on it from beginning to end: meeting with the client and documenting their existing facilities, learning how to set up drawings, learning revit families and the bim model, how to develop design and technical drawings,how to create drafting and design renderings, review shop drawings, participate in OAC meetings, and punch list visits. It was a great opportunity that I enjoyed very much.
